This introductory course is designed to strip away the intimidation of technical gear and return to the essence of image-making. We begin by demystifying the camera—not as a complex machine, but as an extension of the artist’s eye. Students will explore the anatomy of different camera systems, learning essential maintenance and how to choose equipment that serves their specific creative needs. We will also analyze how angles and classical formats shape our perception of reality. The session concludes with a hands-on studio exercise, where participants practice balancing natural and artificial lighting to create their first intentional compositions.
