Beginner Photography
Master the essentials of light and gear to transform your creative vision into technical reality.
For who?
Curious individuals with little to no formal training. This is perfect for those who want to move past "auto-mode" and start making conscious creative choices, even if they already possess basic hobbyist knowledge.

This introductory course is designed to strip away the intimidation of technical gear and return to the essence of image-making. We begin by demystifying the camera—not as a complex machine, but as an extension of the artist’s eye. Students will explore the anatomy of different camera systems, learning essential maintenance and how to choose equipment that serves their specific creative needs. We will also analyze how angles and classical formats shape our perception of reality. The session concludes with a hands-on studio exercise, where participants practice balancing natural and artificial lighting to create their first intentional compositions.
This course emphasizes the maintenance and reconditioning of existing gear, encouraging students to value longevity over the constant consumption of new technology.
Learning Outcomes:
Identify camera components and perform essential maintenance for gear longevity.
Master the "Exposure Triangle" (Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO) in various environments.
Compose images using classical formats and natural lighting techniques.
Evaluate the functional value and condition of pre-owned equipment.
